About Us

The quest to harness the power of exposition data started almost 20 years ago. In 1999, the founder of Nexus Data Group was serving as CEO of three housing and registration companies. Working with many of the top trade shows, expositions, conferences, and consumer events provided an insight into the need for a more effective use of data.

There were hundreds of thousands of data points that could provide valuable information; if they could only be connected to provide true business insights. Unfortunately, the state of technology at the time made such an investment cost-prohibitive.

Fifteen years later, the world was very different:

  • The internet developed into a powerful communication tool
  • Open-source coding creativity replaced hard-coded tech stacks
  • Affordable cloud computing replaced very expensive data centers
  • Internet-connected devices became a constant source of information

Despite early predictions that the internet would replace the expositions industry, the need for face-to-face interaction and the physical review of products continues to drive the value of our industry. Expositions are still temporary physical environments where people come together to connect. The event organizer’s challenge, however, changed.

Attendees now expect a personalized and curated experience that will connect them with people, products, and information that fit their individual needs. Exhibitors have many other marketing channels and will only come to an exposition if it connects them with their desired audience and creates a positive return on investment.

In 2013, a group of industry and tech experts came together to study how better data could help organizers meet these new challenges. The Nexus Data Group team found many technological developments that were helping organizers:

  • build and sell booth space using digital floor planners,
  • share information with attendees through downloadable show apps, and
  • streamline event registration with onsite WiFi and internet forms.

While these new developments helped create more data, most of it remained in disconnected silos. Nexus thus began a detailed study of what event organizers truly need to harness the power of all of this data, and deliver a better experience for attendees and exhibitors.

Data Creating Connections

Four years later, the Nexus team completed the development and testing of new technology and service solutions for the events industry, that will enable organizers to accurately and efficiently connect all of their event data. The result is a data system that organizers can use to properly analyze their event’s performance and trends to develop effective growth strategies.

Connecting this synchronized data with state-of-the-art email and internet tools will empower organizers to achieve three key objectives:

  • Increase quality attendance
  • Create attendee engagement
  • Deliver exhibitor ROI

Nexus Data Group delivers these results. Contact us to learn more about how Nexus can bring your exposition, conference, trade show or event to the next level, with data creating connections.
